Scott's Place Residential Care Home

About Us

Scott’s Place rests on a wooded lot with mature trees and other like homes. Very different from large, institutionalized, retirement facilities, due to size and ratios we are able to provide more personal care within a home environment and with staff available 24/7.

Our Staff has a combined 75 years in community service and caregiving experience.  All staff members are trained in CPR, First Aide and proper techniques in personal care.  Further, each staff member is fully committed to providing an environment that motivates residents physically, mentally and emotionally – and ensures your loved one continues to find enjoyment in their life.

We offer large windows throughout the house, a back deck, a large driveway & yard for enjoying outdoors. We also gladly offer gardening if residents wish or they may choose to stroll the lightly traveled roadways and enjoy nature.

We take pride in offering the best environment to our residents. The secure, warm and relaxed atmosphere in the home promotes companionship among residents, their loved ones and staff.  We are located less than 1 mile from Fairfield Medical Center and only 10 minutes from the local mall and shopping in the Lancaster area.

Whether playing cards at the kitchen table, working a puzzle, smelling a pie in the oven, feeding the birds in the back yard, or waving to the mailman, residents continue the life they've always lived, but with the supportive care they now need.

Kim Sparrow, owner and manager of Scott's Place, has lived and worked in the Lancaster area for many years.   Kim, a lifetime resident of Lancaster, cared for her father, Scott, for more than 7 years as he was a resident in a local nursing home.  Though she always hoped to bring her father home, his condition did not allow for personal care outside of an institutional setting.  After Scott's death on New Year's Eve of 2012, Kim dreamed of opening a residential home for other seniors who needed transitional or permanent care but who did not require the specialized or medical help offered by larger facilities, and so started Scott's Place in honor of her father.

Now that Scott's Place is open and functioning, Kim's dream of helping other families deal with the choices they face for elderly care, is fulfilled.  She has brought together a team of caregivers who, from personal experience, continue to provide a loving, secure environment for our residents.
